Godzilla Raids Again (1955) / Son of Kong (1933) – The First Sequels Roar On
In this episode, we take a look at the earliest sequels in the Godzilla and King Kong legacies. Godzilla Raids Again (1955) brought the King of the Monsters back just one year after his debut, introducing his first-ever kaiju opponent—Anguirus—and setting the stage for the monster-versus-monster formula. Meanwhile, Son of Kong (1933) followed hot on the heels of the original King Kong, offering a lighter, more adventurous tone with the introduction of Kong’s endearing offspring.
